Our first Van. A Bedford. Same model as an Opel Blitz but with a different British driveline.
Bought it as I got a small business and needed to transport signs and other stuff my Ascona couldn't handle.
As Vans became more popular and biker friends started to buy and rebuild them, I did the same.
A double bed in the back, curtains in front of windows, a small sink with running water, a B/W 12v TV, a fridge was about everything it was space for.
A soft carpet, and some modern, at the time, plastic self adhesive decor on the interior.
It was perfect for work and weekends, we had 2 kids and a big dog plus all stuff for staying out.
We joined the other friends on meetings in the bush. After a while everyone had a van.
It worked well except the day the engine gave up. I took it out and trow it away after a check. Found a former rally car engine for sale, a Vauxhall 4 that fitted direct with the gearbox so it was a minor job.
Sold it and bought a GMC Van.
